FEATURED POST – Ashley Chess Girl http://ashleychessgirl.com Ashley Chess Girl Tue, 26 Apr 2016 05:01:18 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=4.7.2 Chess Author for Chesskid.com http://ashleychessgirl.com/chess-author-for-chesskid-com/ http://ashleychessgirl.com/chess-author-for-chesskid-com/#respond Tue, 01 Dec 2015 08:00:35 +0000 http://ashleychessgirl.com/?p=4845

I have been waiting to share this news with you for a few weeks! I’m so happy to have been asked to write for chesskid.com. Firstly because I feel this is my opportunity to share with people around the world just how serious a chess player I am, (naturally how much time I have for chess will always dictate how far I go) but regardless of this, I’m training, getting stronger and enjoying the complexities of this game even more than ever! Also having a platform to continue to encourage girls to play chess remains a goal of mine.

Here is the first article an intro that will be live on chesskid.com Dec 7. But you can still see it here now! Check out my games in the article. (Continue clicking on the moves to see the whole game)

I’ll be writing more soon and hope there is plenty for young children to follow too.

Winning 1st Women BUDAPEST OPEN 2014 http://ashleychessgirl.com/winning-1st-women-budapest-open-2014/ http://ashleychessgirl.com/winning-1st-women-budapest-open-2014/#respond Sun, 31 Aug 2014 18:22:27 +0000 http://ashleychessgirl.com/?p=2771

I am very happy to have won 1st Women in the Budapest Open 2014, Sec B.

Playing chess in Budapest has been the best time. Players are committed and very friendly and I am going to really miss playing chess there! I hope that I can go back one day again soon.

I will upload photos and names of people I would like to thank very soon! David Young is the first my Sponsor from Rotterdam, Netherlands! I’m writing a letter for you and would like to post an update on my experiences shortly.

I had a wonderful time playing chess in Kavala Greece!

I want to thank my friends John and his family for being so kind to me and my family, and for the fun days out!

Also Aris the chess coach who helped me with some chess lessons before the tournament. He is a very good teacher!

I am really happy that I was presented with the prize for 1st U18 Girls!

Here are my chess friends Maria Manelidou and Theodora Hatzipanteli. Maria did great and won a prize also, as did Theodora. Theodora really impressed me. She is a really good chess player and very determined to win! She was often the last person playing chess. My chess friend To Nhat Minh (featured photo) also came in 4th place in the Open and did a great job!

BEST CHESS MOMENT! http://ashleychessgirl.com/best-chess-moment/ http://ashleychessgirl.com/best-chess-moment/#respond Fri, 06 Jun 2014 15:02:43 +0000 http://ashleychessgirl.com/?p=2402

This is one of the best chess moments of my life! It’s hard to explain just how I felt when I was watching the children try to play chess. So many times we complain or feel frustrated learning something new. All I saw was hard effort, children smiling and working together! I feel honoured to have this experience and grateful they invited me ♥

Meeting my Sponsor David! http://ashleychessgirl.com/meeting-my-sponsor-david/ http://ashleychessgirl.com/meeting-my-sponsor-david/#respond Sat, 07 Dec 2013 17:35:32 +0000 http://ashleychessgirl.com/?p=2199

I am very fortunate and feel so grateful to meet a wonderful person like David.

David is from the Netherlands Holland. He flew from his home town to Budapest to meet us for just a few hours. He is genuinely a kind human being and he has other projects too where he supports the environment and healthy life styles, and has recently built a school for orphan children in Africa Tanzania.

Thank you truly David! This has changed my life and many other’s too!

David is one individual who has been kind enough to support me. He is joining me and we hope to find other sponsors too that can help set up a situation where we can support chess in Vancouver BC.
